In principle, the funding period is up to 3 years.

Funding is available for individual and collaborative projects. In the case of a collaborative project, the consortium must appoint a project coordinator from among its members as a joint contact person (see call for funding).

Outlines can only be submitted during an open funding call. Detailed information and exact details can be found in the respective current funding call on this page under the heading Funding calls.

In the first stage of the procedure, the outline is submitted jointly as a composite, usually by the project coordinator.

Funding applications must be submitted individually for each partner in the second stage of the procedure. In the case of collaborative projects, an overall description of the project (umbrella application) and a brief description for each partner must be submitted. Each partner will therefore receive a separate funding decision.

The form and the necessary documents will be communicated following the recommendation of the expert panel.

4.5 million is available for up to 2 projects with a duration of up to three years (see call for funding).

For research institutions, the own contribution is 10%. It is possible to contribute your own share in the form of personal contributions (e.g. contributions in kind, professorial hours, etc.) with corresponding proof. For companies and start-ups, the amount of funding must be determined individually. A cost plan can be submitted to Bayern Innovativ to estimate the funding amount before submitting the outline.

Material expenses are generally eligible for funding if they are causally related to the project (see no. 5.2 of the funding guidelines).
