Bavarian Transformation Fund

Funding is provided for transformation projects throughout the state. Investments by companies in research and innovative technologies as well as investments in the conversion of production processes and the development of alternative business areas are addressed.
The transformation fund is made up of several modules with different types of funding. The central component is R&D funding for technologically new or significantly improved products, production processes and knowledge-based services as part of the Bavarian Technology Promotion Program plus (BayTP+). Projects in the area of process and organizational innovation are also eligible for funding. Funding is also available for investments in plants for the chemical or biochemical recycling of plastic waste and other innovative recycling plants with a significant climate protection effect.

Depending on the module, different funding requirements, amounts and quotas apply to individual farms. The EU Commission's state aid regulations must be observed in each case. The design makes use of the provisions of the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER). Accordingly, general investment promotion, especially for large companies, is not permitted.

The offer is available to companies in all Bavarian regions across all sectors, as it is about the future of industrial production in Bavaria as a whole.

The new transformation fund provides non-repayable funding within the framework of the applicable funding guidelines.

A total of around 350 million euros from the capital stock of the Bavarian Transformation and Research Foundation is available for the funding modules. The resources of the Transformation Fund are made available for a limited period of several years.

The listed program modules are managed by the Project Management Agency Bavaria at Bayern Innovativ. The project management organization conducts the application consultation, accepts the funding applications using the forms provided for this purpose and supports the project implementation and billing. The Bavarian Transformation and Research Foundation approves the funds and issues the funding notices.
