The three Bavarian clusters Bavarian Chips Alliance, Cluster Automotive and Cluster Power Electronics are pooling their activities to jointly motivate Bavarian companies and universities to proactively approach cooperation with Japanese partners.

In this event specific themes of interest shall be identified in order to form interest groups and facilitate subsequent matchmaking and to initiate cooperation between Bavarian and Japanese companies and/or universities.

Persons from Japan are especially welcome. They can participate online and free of charge.

As a result of the first Bavaria-Japan event in May 2025, three main topics of interest were identified by more than 60 attendees:

  • Innovation and development in the field of semiconductors, AI, power modules, wide-band-gap, automotive
  • Resilience of supply chains, stable suppliers and distributors, alternative solutions such as ASICs, and more
  • Talent training from researcher exchange to inter-company employee training

At the next event, these topics will be covered briefly in an introductory presentation by speakers who will share their experiences of long-standing business relationships between Bavaria and Japan. Subsequent workshops will gather feedback on specific thematic interests and cooperation needs in order to identify common ground. Based on this input, a cooperation strategy will be developed. The aim is to bring together several interest groups and arrange a meeting during Semicon Japan 2025 or prepare a future event involving bilateral matchmaking.

Each participant will be invited to provide a brief profile of their company or university/research institute. These profiles will be made accessible to all participants.

All presentations and discussions are in English.
