GreenOffshoreTech track record

GreenOffshoreTech success - 83 SMEs supported

2.96 million for innovation projects

October 07, 2024

GreenOffshoreTech publishes its successes at the end of the project - 83 European SMEs received a total of 2.96 million euros and extensive business support services. In addition, five companies were honored with innovation awards - CMA partner Lemvos with 1st place!

Over the past three years, the GreenOffshoreTech project has supported a total of 83 European SMEs in the development of innovative prototypes and services that aim to make offshore production and transportation greener, cleaner and more sustainable. The focus was on four offshore industry sectors: offshore wind energy, offshore aquaculture, offshore oil and gas and water transportation.
A total of EUR 2.96 million was provided to fund these 83 SME innovation projects through two open calls, structured in a three-phase accelerator program focusing on technology development and commercialization strategy:

  • PHASE 1: 83 SMEs received EUR 0.37 million for the development of an initial business plan
  • PHASE 2: 55 SMEs received EUR 2.27 million for the development of a prototype
  • PHASE 3: 32 SMEs received EUR 0.32 million for promotional and commercialization activities

The financial support was complemented by tailor-made business support services, including internationalization, branding, training for investor pitches and, above all, personalized one-on-one coaching by globally experienced business mentors as the most important key factors for the success of the program.
In addition to the funding in the Accelerator program, the participating companies from Phase 2 were able to present themselves to investors at the final event and compete for the GreenOffshoreTech Innovation Award.
Based on the final votes of the international audience, the following five SMEs were awarded as the "greenest" SME innovation projects in GreenOffshoreTech:

  1. Lemvos GmbH (Germany) for their unmanned surface vessel for remote inspections,
  2. Subsea Bellows AS (Norway) for their compact and lightweight composite buoys,
  3. FiberCheck GmbH (Germany) for its systems for monitoring the condition of wind turbines,
  4. Tidetec AS (Norway) for its hydraulic turbine technology,
  5. Hefring ehf (Iceland) for its AI-based control and ship monitoring solution.
