EIT Manufacturing": Upcoming 2026 call for proposals to promote innovation

The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) has published the call for tenders for 2026 as part of its "EIT Manufacturing" initiative.

Projects are funded that address the challenges along industrial value chains and thus accelerate innovation in European manufacturing. Funding is provided for mechanical and plant engineering (including robotics), electronics and semiconductors.

Companies based in an EU Member State or a country associated with "Horizon Europe" are eligible to apply. The prerequisite is the formation of a consortium of at least three independent legal entities based in at least two different EIT Manufacturing regions.
The consortium must cover at least the following roles:

  • "Lead Partner": coordinator of the consortium and direct contact for EIT Manufacturing
  • Two industrial companies in the same value chain, but at different stages, supporting the market introduction of the innovation in a real industrial environment.
  • "Business Owner": Responsible for the commercialization of the solution

Funding criteria and project expectations

The projects should identify specific challenges in the value chain that can be solved through collaboration with relevant stakeholders. Recommended key topics are competition-related challenges, regulatory requirements, digital solutions, green technologies and the circular economy.

The developed solution should reach at least Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 8 by the end of the project and generate a turnover of over EUR 10,000. The recommended project duration is 18 to 24 months. The submission deadline will be announced in due course.
