EIT Manufacturing announces call for funding for innovative manufacturing solutions

Projects in key industries should address common industry challenges and promote technology transfer

The European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) Manufacturing has announced the 2026 Innovation Call. The target group is SMEs and industrial companies in strategically important sectors such as automotive, robotics, aviation and chemicals. Funding is available for projects that solve specific industrial challenges, develop digital solutions or implement green technologies. The call supports the development of marketable manufacturing innovations with a medium to high level of technological maturity.

EIT Manufacturing has launched its 2026 call for innovation and is aimed at SMEs and industrial companies across Europe. Funding is available for innovative manufacturing solutions in strategically important industries and value chains with high innovation potential.
The focus is on the following sectors, among others

  • Automotive industry
  • Machinery and equipment, including robotics
  • Electronics and semiconductors
  • Base metals and CleanTech
  • Aerospace and defense
  • Chemicals and pharmaceuticals
  • Food and beverages
  • Textiles and clothing

Funding is available for projects that address specific industry challenges - for example in the areas of competitiveness, regulation, digital solutions, green technologies and the circular economy. Consortia of at least three independent institutions from at least two different EIT Manufacturing regions can participate. The projects should develop innovative solutions with a technology readiness level (TRL) of at least 6 and bring them to TRL 8.

Selected projects will conclude a framework contract for services to support the commercialization of the developed products and technologies .
