Rosenheim start-up Advanced Additive innovates software for increased FDM component quality

Advanced Additive is a start-up that emerged from the materials science department at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences. They develop software for FDM 3D printing with the aim of maximizing the quality of additive components and processes. Project Path optimizes the filling strategy to improve mechanical properties and ensure process reliability.

The innovation of Project Path at a glance

  • Up to 15 % higher maximum force and 11 % higher breaking force compared to conventional slicing methods.
  • Material properties at injection molding level: In initial tests, results were achieved that deviated by only 4% from the literature values of injection-molded PLA. (Concrete comparison still ongoing)
  • 100% precise filling: Completely filled parts with homogeneous component properties and consistent quality across components and machines.
  • Reduction of over-extrusion: exact material placement avoids printing problems.
  • Reduction in production times: Optimizes the process and shortens cycle times.
