Future-proofing production

Workshop in Augsburg showed ways to transform production

23.03.2026

Workshop for concrete approaches on how companies can transform their production in a targeted manner

The workshop "Targeted implementation of transformation in production" focused on possible approaches for identifying transformation potential in production. As part of the workshop, participants were given an overview of the current challenges and opportunities of industrial transformation. In particular, the focus was on increasing market requirements and technological developments. The participants exchanged views on automation and digitalization topics and discussed data ecosystems, security and employee involvement. In order to maintain an overview in complex, turbulent times with scarce resources and to identify and evaluate fields of action, a structured approach to planning transformation processes was presented to support companies in the systematic further development of their production.

The so-called ADMA methodology (Advanced Manufacturing Assessment) was presented for this purpose and developed in a simplified form together in the workshop for the respective company and then discussed and debated together so that the participants could benefit from the previous experiences from the round. Using an exemplary transformation plan, the participants were able to understand how strategic, organizational and technological measures are interlinked. The aim was to develop initial concrete approaches for implementation in their own company.

In addition, the participants were able to find out about further support services and financing and funding opportunities for digital, green and social transformation projects in production. Options for more in-depth support were also presented.

The event was part of the European RECENTRE project, which supports small and medium-sized enterprises in the Alpine region in their digital, sustainable and social transformation. The aim of the project is to strengthen the competitiveness of companies and actively shape the transition to Industry 5.0.

The Mechatronics & Automation Cluster of Bayern Innovativ supports companies in the RECENTRE project with personal support, a structured analysis and a customized transition plan. There is also the opportunity to receive up to €10,000 in funding to implement initial transformation steps.

There are currently still limited places available to take part. Further information is available here
