The Enterprise Europe Network informs:
The EU Commission is working on transparent EU rules for general purpose AI (GPAI) models. In order to create practical rules, it is calling on companies, research institutions and all interested parties to contribute their experiences and perspectives in a public consultation.
Contributions can be submitted until May 22, 2025.
The guidelines will explain key concepts in detail:
- Definition of "general purpose AI models"
- Determination of "providers" in various constellations
- Clarification of the term "placing on the market"
The guidance will also explain how the AI Office supports compliance and how an approved code of conduct can reduce the burden on providers and serve as a compliance reference.
