Current laboratory studies show that external acoustic waves lead to a homogenization of the lithium ions in the batteries.
This reduces the internal resistance and prevents lithium plating. The result is higher charging performance with reduced ageing.
A research group at Nuremberg Institute of Technology would like to investigate the use of acoustic waves for battery systems and is still looking for interested companies. As a partner, you will be informed twice a year about the latest research results and can exchange ideas within the consortium. You can become a member by submitting a non-binding expression of interest by 04.05.2026. Structural funding is being sought for the project, which is why no financial resources or additional work is required. For further information, please contact Florian.Uhrig(at)TH-Nuernberg.de.
