IBC Solar completes generational change

The chairmanship of IBC Solar's Management Board passes to the son of the company's founder. With Julius Moehrstedt, the founding family of the PV system manufacturer is once again taking the helm.

Julius Moehrstedt has taken over as CEO of IBC Solar AG as of October 1, 2025. For the family-run provider of photovoltaic solutions based in Bad Staffelstein in the north of Bavaria, this decision marks the transition to the next generation. Möhrstedt, son of founder Udo Möhrstedt, succeeds Dirk Haft, who had led the company founded in 1982 since 2024 and is now returning to the Supervisory Board.

As his LinkedIn profile shows, the new CEO has been with IBC Solar since 2016. He has worked in various management positions, most recently as Sales Transition Manager. In this position, he managed the Central Europe sales region and worked closely with the previous Management Board.

IBC Solar is active in the distribution and project business and also offers its own products under the IBC Solar brand. The company covers the entire spectrum from planning to the turnkey handover of photovoltaic systems. Its customers include homeowners, businesses, industry and operators of large solar parks. In this segment, IBC Solar also acts as a project developer and general contractor.
