The Bavaria-wide overview map shows the potential areas for the planning and construction of conventional open space photovoltaic systems. It provides an initial orientation and assessment of the likely suitability of areas as potential sites.

The map has been extensively updated on the basis of the Bavarian Wind Atlas 2021 and numerous federal and state regulations. It provides an overview of potential areas for wind energy use and enables an initial assessment when planning and erecting turbines.

The exchange contains information on waste heat sources in Bavaria. The data on industrial waste heat has now been updated.
