The EU Commission invites you to help shape the future: Until February 23, 2026, citizens, businesses, public authorities and stakeholders can submit their feedback on the planned European initiative on climate resilience and risk management.
The aim is an integrated EU framework to be adopted at the end of 2026 to better prepare Europe for the challenges of climate change.

Why act?

Extreme weather events are causing increasing damage to health, infrastructure and the economy. According to the latest climate risk assessment, Europe is warming twice as fast as the global average - without decisive action, the consequences could be catastrophic by the end of the century.

What should the initiative achieve?

• Protect health and well-being
• Identify and reduce climate risks at an early stage
• Strengthen prevention at all levels
• Promote innovations for climate-resilient technologies
