Digital topics, IT and HR - Tennet Germany appoints Kathrin Günther to the management board as Chief Transformation Officer as of September 1, 2025.

Tennet Germany is expanding its top management team in the autumn: Kathrin Günther will be the first Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) to assume responsibility for IT, digitalization, human resources and corporate security. She will join CEO Tim Meyerjürgens and Chief Financial Officer Markus Binder. With this new position, the transmission system operator is underlining the strategic importance of technological cross-sectional areas for its further development.

Based in Bayreuth, Tennet operates the longest electricity transmission grid in Germany. Since the beginning of 2025, it has been part of a holding structure that organizationally separates Tennet Germany and Tennet Netherlands. The aim of this realignment is to enable future investments in the German unit.

In a company press release, Manon van Beek, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, praised Günther as a proven digitalization expert with experience in implementing complex IT strategies. CEO Tim Meyerjürgens sees her as a "driving force with experience at the interface of technology, IT and industry" - an ideal addition to the management team.

Günther himself emphasizes the role of digital technologies in the transformation of the energy system. AI, automation and process digitalization are indispensable for combining security of supply, flexibility and intelligence.

According to Tennet, the engineer has many years of management experience in the IT and industrial sectors. Most recently, she was Chief Operating Officer at GFT Software Solutions, a subsidiary of GFT Technologies, a Stuttgart-based IT service provider. There she was responsible for the global software product business.

Tennet Germany employs more than 5,000 people and is one of the largest investors in the German electricity grid infrastructure.
