Stadtwerke Böblingen is changing its top management. A successor has now been found for Alfred Kappenstein, who is leaving at the end of August.
From June, the management of Stadtwerke Böblingen (SWBB) will temporarily consist of a trio. Sabine Kaebert will take over as Technical Managing Director at the beginning of the month. She will take over from Alfred Kappenstein, who will remain in office until the end of August before retiring.
The utility company in the large district town will thus have a female dual leadership in future. The commercial management is already in the hands of Christine Tomschi. She has been in office since July 2021.
With Sabine Kaebert (45), the company from the Stuttgart region has promoted someone from its own ranks. The graduate engineer in environmental protection technology has been employed by Stadtwerke since 2007 and was initially a project engineer. She was promoted to Head of the Construction/Networks department in 2019. She has been an authorized signatory for the technical department since 2022.
A statement from SWBB emphasizes the merits of the outgoing Managing Director. Alfred Kappenstein moved from Stadtwerke Heidelberg Umwelt to Böblingen in 2018. According to the press release, he was instrumental in driving forward the expansion of district heating. He also made a decisive contribution to pacifying the conflict that arose over district heating prices (we reported).
