RTIT project meeting in Tulln

Activities with the companies in the regions will begin shortly

06.06.2025

This time, the RTIT consortium was a guest at the Wood K Plus site in Tulln. The project partners were warmly welcomed by Dr. Christian Hansmann (Division Manager) and Prof. Dr. Johannes Konnerth (Institute of Wood Technology and Renewable Resources, BOKU University). The next steps in the project were discussed over two days. Among other things, the activities in the regions and the finalization of the action plan are on the agenda.

During the activities in the regions, the individual partners work together with companies on site to implement various design thinking approaches on the topics of advanced materials, bio-based materials and sustainable materials. In the so-called Demo Plans, the implementing partners presented Bosnia-Herzegovina (Nedeljko Milosavljevic), Bulgaria (Boyko Todorov, ARC Fund), Montenegro (Anđela Nikčević, IEC Tehnopolis), Slovenia (Kristijan Radikovič, NIC), Ukraine (Olena Fesenko, IP of NASU) and Hungary (Prof. Dr. Zoltán Orbán, UP MIK). Companies in these regions will soon be invited to participate via the project website, the project LinkedIn channel and the partners' social media channels and websites. As so-called knowledge partners, Bayern Innovativ (Germany) and Wood K Plus (Austria) are involved in the activities and also forward invitations and requirements to their respective networks.

To ensure that the supra-regional exchange remains guaranteed despite the regional activities and that the partners can continue to learn from each other, the exchange continues to take place in parallel at partner level in the thematic groups. In this way, the individual partners receive feedback on the various methods and content, which in turn flows back into the organizations, networks and clusters and further strengthens the development of the knowledge communities. BI leads the Advanced Materials thematic group; Dr. Barbara Giehmann presented the transnational rollout plan for this area, while Dr. Lea Ranacher (Wood K Plus) and Kristijan Radikovič (National Institute of Chemistry) presented the transnational rollout plan for the Biobased Materials and Sustainable Materials thematic groups. The focus here was on the challenges in the Danube region and possible solutions; a publication is planned once this has been implemented.

A central point in the project is also the so-called Action Plan. In all Interreg projects, it is important to reflect results and recommendations back to political stakeholders. In this way, needs and challenges can be passed on and taken into account when planning future measures. Among other things, the further harmonization of living conditions and securing the European location should be promoted at European level. The consortium is currently finalizing the action plan and will publish it in the near future.

On the second day, Dr. Christian Hansmann gave a keynote speech on "Trends and visions in wood material technologies" and gave the partners a tour of the Wood K Plus laboratories at the Tulln site.

We would like to thank Wood K Plus and BOKU University for their hospitality!
