First Lego League 2025

04.02.2025

On January 25, 2025, the regional finals of the global FIRST LEGO League took place at the Vocational Information Center in Munich.

The FIRST LEGO League Challenge is an internationally established format that aims to playfully encourage pupils in the areas of research, construction and programming and to arouse enthusiasm for the STEM subjects (mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology).

This year's competition was held under the motto "SUBMERGED", in which the teams worked on tasks related to underwater research and technology. The participating teams presented their self-developed robot solutions and research projects to a panel of experts. Not only technical skills were assessed, but also the ability to develop innovative and sustainable solutions for current social challenges. The winners of the regional competition in Munich were announced at an awards ceremony. The best-placed teams qualified for the next round of the competition and will present their projects in a national competition.

The event offered the young inventors an excellent opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and technical skills while gaining valuable experience for their future careers.

Robert Dölle, Deputy Head of the Mechatronics & Automation Cluster at Bayern Innovativ, was impressed by the participants' achievements:

"The pupils demonstrated impressive technical skills and developed valuable skills through play. The team spirit and fairness were also inspiring and exemplary."

On April 4, 2025, the Mechatronics & Automation Cluster is already organizing the next event together with the University of Augsburg. At the FIRST LEGO League Explore, children between the ages of 6 and 10 will be able to live out their enthusiasm for technology and science.
