The GreenOffshoreTech project partners met in person for the last time in Scotland in mid-August to mark the end of the project. The focus was on current development projects of the partner Highlands and Islands, such as the Inverness Campus and the Cromarty Port, as well as the project conclusion.
Great conclusion to the GreenOffshoreTechs project in Scotland! At the end of the project, the consortium visited Highlands and Islands at An Lochran in Inverness. On the first day, there were exciting insights into the Highlands and Islands development project on the campus in Inverness. In addition to office buildings with flexible solutions for start-ups and offices, Highlands and Islands' new An Lochran office and new buildings for Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) and the Rural Veterinary Innovation Centre (RAVIC) have also been built there. In addition to a guided campus tour, there was an opportunity to meet with local partners - including 4c Engineering Technology, SGL Carbon, Tiny Fish and The Data Lab Innovation Centre - to make new contacts. Of course, the two largest current development projects in the ports sector were not to be missed: Alasdair Ferguson, Group Managing Director of Ferguson Transport & Shipping and Director KPL presented Kishon Port (@kishonportanddrydock). James Gibbs, Director Freeport Delivery HIE, presented the Cromarty Firth Free Trade Zone development project. On the second day, there was also an opportunity to visit the site - the dry dock and the oil platforms and service vessels anchored in the port for repairs were particularly impressive. James Gibbs took plenty of time to show us the existing infrastructure and the planned expansion of Cromarty Port.
We would like to thank Elaine Jamieson and Christine Rolin from Highlands and Islands for the great organization and hospitality and James Gibbs for the impressive visit to Cromarty!
