ENERGIEregion Nürnberg confirms Dr. Jens Hauch's Board of Directors - Network prepares for next growth phase and 25th anniversary

ENERGIEregion Nürnberg e.V. elected a new board of directors at its general meeting on November 12, 2025 in Nuremberg.
Dr. Jens Hauch from the Helmholtz Institute Erlangen-Nuremberg remains Chairman of the Competence Network for a further two years.
His deputies were also confirmed in office:
Rainer Kleedörfer (N-ERGIE AG), Roland Piatkowski (tga-engineering GmbH) and Thomas Vogel (zeitgeist engineering gmbh).
Hauch thanked the members for their trust and emphasized the positive development of the association: projects such as the NKubator start-up center and the metropolitan region's climate pact have had a decisive impact on the ENERGIEregion. For the coming years, he announced plans to further expand the network and actively shape the regional energy transition. The association will also be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026.
Managing Director Peter Will emphasized the close cooperation with the Executive Board: Only through intensive exchange can the association react quickly and flexibly to new opportunities, he said.
New members were elected to the extended board:
Monika Dietrich (HWK Mittelfranken), Frank Gentzwein (TÜV Süd), Dr. Andrea Heilmaier (City of Nuremberg), Dr. Kerstin Gemmer-Berkbilek (Ramboll), Dr. Ronald Künneth (IHK Nuremberg), Stefan Schinke (Sparkasse Nuremberg) and Richard Weller (Alpha IC GmbH).
The following were also confirmed as co-opted members:
Prof. Dr. Jörg Franke (FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg), Prof. Dr. Jörg Kapischke (Ansbach University of Applied Sciences), Prof. Dr. Frank Opferkuch (Nuremberg Institute of Technology) and Britta Walthelm (City of Nuremberg).
