An Austrian SME has developed an innovative propulsion system with a fully 360° pivoting thrust that is suitable for both manned and unmanned aircraft (e.g. drones or air cabs). The system combines vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) with efficient forward flight - without having to tilt the aircraft.
The system can be used as the main drive for eVTOLs and drones, such as air cabs. It is also suitable as an auxiliary drive for stabilizing payloads under helicopters or for industrial drone applications in windy and difficult environments.

Advantages and innovations

The newly developed drive system offers full 360° thrust vector control, which enables exceptionally high maneuverability. Due to its compact design, it can generate lift and forward thrust simultaneously, replacing the wings, propellers and control surfaces of conventional VTOL concepts. The system is also designed to operate safely and precisely even under adverse weather conditions and in confined airspaces. In addition, it can be integrated into existing systems and improves their precision, stability and operational safety, resulting in less downtime and lower operating costs.
