The EIT Culture and Creativity is now the ninth and newest innovation partnership of the EIT (European Institute of Innovation & Technology) and forms another network focused on excellence, bringing together partners from education, research and business. EIT Culture and Creativity focuses on strengthening and cohesion of the European cultural and creative sectors. It has now been decided that up to 25 million euros will be made available to the innovation partnership from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025 - primarily for the expansion of the consortium and for the promotion of innovative projects in the cultural and creative sector.
The ICE consortium, including the Bavarian Center for Cultural and Creative Industries (bayernkreativ), won the EIT call for proposals in July 2022 to establish a knowledge and innovation community for the European cultural and creative industries. In January 2023, bayernkreativ and German partners founded the Association for Research and Innovation in the Cultural and Creative Industries, which became the leading partner of the ICE consortium. With ideas from over 50 partners from 20 countries, the consortium was convincing and was given the name "EIT Culture & Creativity".
