The first forum for the cultural and creative industries in Bavaria took place with fresh ideas, exciting topics and plenty of exchange! Organized by the Bavarian Center for Cultural and Creative Industries under the auspices of Bayern Innovativ GmbH and the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, the event brought together a diverse mix of organizations and institutions that promote and advance the industry, as well as cultural and creative professionals from Bavaria. Among other things, exciting future topics were discussed in an open exchange - for a vibrant, creative future in Bavaria!

The forum offered around 200 participants from Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Austria and the rest of Germany a great opportunity to discover examples of best practice, make valuable contacts and gather new ideas for projects and collaborations.

Main topics of the forum:

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: In her opening presentation, Veronika Liebl from Ars Electronica showed how collaboration between art, science and technology can fuel creative innovation. Projects from the S+T+ARTS Prize were used to illustrate how this interdisciplinarity can advance the cultural and creative industries.
  • Artificial intelligence and digitalization: Sessions such as "How AI empowers artists instead of replacing them" with Mathis Nitschke from Sofilab UG and "How digitalization and AI are transforming the cultural and creative industries" showed how digital innovations such as high-performance computing, AI-supported text analysis and immersive soundwalk apps are enriching the creative industries and opening up new economic potential.
  • Funding structures for the cultural and creative industries: Representatives from institutions such as FilmFernsehFonds Bayern, Medien.Bayern GmbH, bayern design GmbH, Bayerische Forschungsallianz (BayFOR) and Bayern Innovativ provided valuable insights into funding programs and networks that provide important impetus for creative projects and innovations.
  • Creative locations as hubs of the cultural and creative industries: In several sessions such as "Successfully developing creative locations", "Shaping and designing explorative spaces" and "3 x 8 minutes: Moving Creative Places" showed how creative places act as platforms for exchange and innovation and strengthen their regions economically and culturally.
  • Sustainability and ecological change: Sessions such as "The role of design in the context of ecological transformation" and "The impact of sustainability goals on administration and creative locations" showed how the cultural and creative industries can implement sustainable business models and contribute to ecological change.
