Collaboration instead of convention - Cross Innovation Day 2025 in retrospect

How can companies remain viable and future-oriented in the face of multiple crises? The Cross Innovation Day 2025 in Hamburg focused on precisely this question.

Under the motto "Changing perspectives - shaping a sustainable future", concrete approaches and examples of how collaboration across industry boundaries can enable new solutions were presented in Hamburg's Oberhafen on June 12, 2025. One application example came from the aviation industry: how can aircraft cabins become more sustainable? In the Cross Innovation Lab Climate, a team from Hamburg Aviation worked with designers to develop a fully recyclable seat construction with great potential for reducing CO₂ emissions. The FAIRcraft project was presented at AIX Expo 2024 and funded by the IFB-GATE program.

Johanna Lison, Project Manager at Bayern Innovativ GmbH, gained a personal impression of this project and many other application examples and took away practical examples for her own work context.

Lectures, discussion rounds and practical formats at the Cross Innovation Day, which brought together around 200 specialists and managers from business, science, politics and administration, made it clear that the exchange between different disciplines can help to rethink and constructively tackle current challenges.

The Cross Innovation Hub is a project of the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft, the largest creative industries development organization in Germany.
