As part of the Interreg project BAUHALPS (Building Circular in the Alpine Space), an innovative approach is being pursued to make the construction sector in the Alpine region more sustainable and environmentally friendly. The project is based on the guiding values of the "New European Bauhaus" (NEB) and combines technological advances with the unique "genius loci" of the Alpine region. The aim is to fundamentally transform the construction sector in this region through sustainable, integrative and aesthetically pleasing solutions.
We are particularly pleased to be implementing this project with partners from Italy, France, Slovenia, Germany and Switzerland over the next three years. The project started on September 1, 2024 and will run for three years.
The green transformation and climate-neutral goals are at the heart of an innovative cultural process that involves cultural and creative professionals and local social groups in co-designing new solutions. As a result of the project, new standards will be developed that will become mandatory in the assessment of buildings and support the green transformation in the construction sector.
BAUHALPS builds on previous experience in the building sector and optimizes existing open source tools by combining technical, aesthetic and cultural aspects of the building process. It takes into account the needs of the local community, the specific character of the site and the particular challenges of alpine areas.
BAUHALPS is intended to help pave the way for sustainable and future-oriented construction methods in the Alpine region that respect both the environment and cultural heritage.
