Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik (BSI)

As the national cyber security authority, the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) shapes information security in digitization through prevention, detection and response for the state, business and society.

At the federal level, the BSI is also responsible for the protection of critical infrastructures (CRITIS). In Germany, organizations and facilities from the fields of energy supply, information technology and telecommunications, transport and traffic, health, water, food, finance and insurance, state and administration, and media and culture are counted as Critical Infrastructures.
