Our university offers a variety of study programs e.g. in semiconductor technology, microsystems technology, and microelectronics. Our research activities in these fields cover topics such as analog and digital IC design, DC/DC converter control, design analysis, production engineering for semiconductor chips, design for manufacturability, innovative test and inspection technologies and hardware software co-design.

Our research laboratories have produced various semiconductor structures and demonstrators such as:

  • Miniaturized field emission electron sources
  • Thermal semiconductor gas sensors for hydrogen, CO2 and natural gas
  • Miniaturized vacuum sensors
  • Microplasma actuators

At OTH Regensburg, semiconductors, microtechnologies, and microelectronics are prominent areas of focus. Our teaching and research activities are centred on practical and application-oriented technologies, including microsystems engineering, optoelectronics, micromachining, microsensors, devices and circuitry, as well as chip design, microcontroller, and FPGA applications.
