Summary

Perspectives for production

Profile

Under the direction of Prof. Gunther Reinhart and Prof. Michael F. Zäh, research, teaching and industry transfer take place in the areas of additive manufacturing, machine tools, assembly technology and robotics, joining and separation technology, as well as in the field of production management and logistics. Here, the iwb works closely with the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Foundry, Composite and Processing Technology IGCV in Augsburg.

  • Additive manufacturing (e.g. process development, process monitoring, simulation)
  • Machine tools (e.g. process and structural behavior, intelligent machine tools, hybrid manufacturing technologies)
  • Assembly technology and robotics (e.g. battery production, cyber-physics).e.g. battery production, cyber-physical assembly systems, industrial robotics)
  • joining and cutting technology (e.g. laser manufacturing technology, friction welding, intelligent joining system technology)
  • production management and logistics (e.g. innovation management in production, people in the factory, optimization for industrial practice)
