After completing her doctorate in business administration at the University of Passau, Prof. Dr. Diane Ahrens gained industrial experience at the headquarters of Siemens AG in Munich. In 2003, she was appointed Professor of International Management with a focus on logistics, first at Hof University of Applied Sciences and then at Deggendorf Technical University. There she established the Technologie Campus Grafenau, a THD facility for applied research in the field of digital transformation and AI, which today has 50 employees.
