Dr Tanja Jovanovic studied social economics and international business studies at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and earned her doctorate in innovation management. She worked at FAU, where her responsibilities included research and corporate projects, teaching courses and establishing a working group. She also worked in project management at Siemens AG and in start-up consulting.

Since October 2018, Tanja Jovanovic has been working as a project and innovation manager at Bayern Innovativ GmbH. As head of technology and innovation management, she is responsible for services in technology and innovation management as well as the further development of technology transfer. Since April 2024, she has also been head of marketing and a member of the management board.
