Dr. Petra Blumenroth holds a degree in biology with a focus on microbiology (TU Munich) and completed her doctorate on microbial pollutant degradation at the Technical University of Braunschweig.

She then headed a BMBF project on the microbial degradation of cyanides in wastewater from gold extraction at the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources (BGR) in Hanover.

Petra Blumenroth moved to Bayern Innovativ GmbH in 2000, where she initially started as a member of the public relations team. She gradually built up the Corporate Communications department and headed it until 2017.

Dr. Petra Blumenroth then dedicated herself to the topic of "Frugal Innovations" and projects in her specialist areas of sustainability and bioeconomy.

Since the beginning of 2021, she has been conducting sustainability assessments with companies; since August 2023, Petra Blumenroth has been in charge of the "Sustaina_BI_lity" project in the Transformation area of expertise.
