Prof. Lienkamp (*1967) researches and teaches in the following areas: Electromobility with the aim of creating new vehicle concepts, driver assistance systems through to automated driving as well as mobility data and mobility concepts. He is the scientific director of the Munich School of Engineering, the Electromobility Science Center and the CREATE project in Singapore.

After studying mechanical engineering at TU Darmstadt and Cornell University, he completed his doctorate at TU Darmstadt (1995). After an international trainee program at Volkswagen and a stay at the then joint venture between Ford and Volkswagen in Portugal, he headed up brake testing in commercial vehicle development in Wolfsburg. He later became head of the "Electronics and Vehicle" research department in Volkswagen AG's Group Research division. One focus was on vehicle concepts for electromobility. Prof. Lienkamp has been teaching at the Chair of Automotive Engineering at TUM since November 2009 and has headed the chair since October 2010, succeeding Prof. Dr. Bernd Heißing. Prof. Lienkamp is also a board member of the VDI Society for Automotive and Traffic Engineering.
