Prof. Becherer conducts research into magnetic components for spin-based signal processing and sensor technology. One focus is on ferro- and ferrimagnetic materials, their nanoscale structuring and electrical and optical characterization. With the methods developed, material properties can be specifically adjusted and potential fields of application in the area of digital, analog and neuromorphic signal processing can be opened up.
