Jürgen Kraus studied production engineering at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, where he completed a doctorate in laser material processing.

After joining MTU as a project manager in turbine development in 1998, he took over the management of rotor and blade design from 2001 to 2011 and was Head of Development MTU Polska from 2012 to 2015. Since 2016, his focus has been on additive manufacturing, where he first took over project management and since 2018 the entire management of the newly founded Center of Competence.
