Harald Kiesl graduated from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg in 1998 with a degree in business administration.
He spent almost 12 years advising public companies at the auditing firm Rödl & Partner in Nuremberg. His last position there was as Associate Partner with nationwide responsibility for city and municipal utilities in the areas of energy and water supply. However, other municipal infrastructures of general interest such as hospitals, sewage treatment plants and broadband companies were also part of his consulting focus. For a period of two years, he was also a short-term expert for the EU in the field of water supply benchmarking and also gained valuable professional experience in other European countries.
Harald Kiesl has been the sole managing director of HEWA GmbH since fall 2010. He is thus responsible for the development and transformation of the municipal energy and water supplier in the context of the upcoming energy transition.
Since fall 2013, he has also been a member of the Management Board of the municipal company Stadtwerke Hersbruck, the 100% shareholder of HEWA GmbH. Other independent business areas of Stadtwerke Hersbruck include central IT in the municipal network and wastewater disposal, including operation of the central sewage treatment plant. The 100% shareholding in Fackelmann Therme Hersbruck rounds off the range of tasks of Stadtwerke Hersbruck and Harald Kiesl's area of responsibility.
