'Frank Heidenau studied chemistry at the University of Bayreuth, graduating in 1989. At the Chair of Ceramics and Composites, he then devoted himself to the development of biomedical coatings on a sol-gel basis. Building on his work at the Friedrich-Baur Research Institute, he became responsible for the development and production of BioCer Entwicklungs-GmbH with the HaemoCer and TiO2Mesh medical product lines in 2008. Since 2012, he has been managing partner of the company, which sells its medical products in over 80 countries worldwide.
