Prof. Dr. Elisabeth André is Professor of Computer Science and founder of the Chair of Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence at the University of Augsburg. Her research is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that operates at the interface between artificial intelligence and human-machine interaction. Her work has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize 2021, the most important and most highly endowed research prize in Germany. In 2019, she was honored by the German Informatics Society (GI) as one of the ten formative personalities in the history of German AI. Due to her outstanding research achievements, she was inducted into the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, the Academia Europaea and the Bavarian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. She was also recently appointed to the German Academy of Science and Engineering, acatech. She is also a member of the Learning Systems Platform, where she heads the "Work, Qualification/Human-Machine Interaction" working group.
