Bassem Arar is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks, Technical University of Dresden.

His current research focuses on hybrid-integrated quantum-classical communication networks and photonic technologies for next-generation telecommunications, building on more than 10 years of experience in quantum photonics and the development of light sources for quantum sensing.

He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin in 2019. From 2011 to 2023, he was with the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut (FBH) in Berlin, and, from 2021 to 2023, was a Team Leader at the Joint Lab Quantum Photonic Components.
