viatolea
Profile description
viatolea is a medical technology start-up that was founded as a spin-off from Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). The interdisciplinary team is developing a digital health application for the more than 20 million people in Germany who are affected by food intolerances.
The app is a registered medical device according to MDR and supports users with a structured 10-week programme - from the systematic recording of meals and symptoms to an algorithm-supported analysis and personalized dietary changes. In doing so, viatolea relies on a combination of modern technology and human expertise: qualified nutritionists guide users individually through the entire process.
viatolea already cooperates with several statutory health insurance companies - including BARMER and vivida bkk - and thus provides free access to around 10 million insured persons in Germany. The aim is to noticeably reduce patient complaints and at the same time reduce treatment costs for health insurance companies in the long term.
