Sustainable and powerful batteries are a key technology for the transformation of the mobility and energy sectors.
As a competent partner of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), VDI/VDE-IT supports the funding measures for battery cell production both in the implementation of project sponsorship and through scientific support for battery cell production and battery system integration. An interdisciplinary team of more than 60 internal and external experts supports the "New Drive Technologies, Electromobility, Environmental Innovations" department in the BMWE in the national promotion of investments, innovations and qualification in the field of batteries, and in the coordination of the battery IPCEI "European Battery Innovation" at European level. VDI/VDE-IT supports the funded projects and the development of the ecosystem by uniting the forces of industry, science and politics through knowledge transfer and networking, creating a solid knowledge base and supporting the decision-making of relevant stakeholders.
