New types of vacuum-insulated composite prefabricated parts were developed for use in the "zero-heating energy house" research project. After years of basic research, component testing and modification, it was possible to launch a practical VIP insulation, offered under the name "Qasa,"  in three variants. The new insulation has an extremely low thermal conductivity of λ = 0.004 W/mK. The low element thickness (max. 5 cm), coupled with the heat transfer tending towards zero, leads to gains in usable space that make the use of VIP interesting.

Standard details allow coverage of almost any construction situation. Each component can be prefabricated modularly. A total of five different roof or wall structures were used. Tests are currently underway in the areas of thermal insulation, fire protection and construction types to achieve general building approval for 2007.
