Intelligent robots will fundamentally change all areas of industry, but also our private lives. They will relieve us of boring work, support us in a wide range of activities and increase our quality of work and life. At RoVi, we are working on realizing this vision by making robots intelligent and sensitive, while radically simplifying their hardware and reducing the costs for development, production, acquisition and maintenance. To this end, we are developing a novel and patented sensor system based on cameras and intelligent image analysis software. The RoVi technology is the first to provide sensor technology via software instead of hardware, thus serving as an "enabler" for the economic use of sensitive robots in entirely new markets and application areas. RoVi is a spin-off of the Chair of Media Technology at the Technical University of Munich.
