Information

Power Plant Engineering:

  • Fundamental investigations for the development of future high-temperature gasification and gas purification processes for IGCC power plants with CO2 capture and for the production of synthetic energy sources;
  • .
  • Monitoring and control of deposits on the heat exchanger surfaces of a steam generator;
  • .
  • Development of a new steam generator concept for CO2-free coal-fired power plants with carbon capture & storage (CCS) based on the oxy-fuel process
  • .

Regenerative energy:

  • Online measurements of tars from biomass gasification; investigation of different fuel on the tar composition of the product gas in BioHPR ;
  • .
  • Development of a solar-powered low-temperature Rankine cycle for desalination based on the principle of reverse osmosis

Profile

The Chair of Energy Systems focuses on problems from the field of energy engineering. Our research is divided into four areas:

  • Power plant technology,
  • Regenerative energies,
  • Measurement technology and
  • Modeling & Simulation.

The chair is involved in various national and international research projects, both in cooperation with other research institutions and in cooperation with companies from industry.

Products

  • Modeling
  • Simulation

Technology

  • with the overall system power plant
  • .
  • regenerative energies
  • energetic use of biomass and residues by combustion in the fluidized bed
  • .
  • by gasification/reformation (fixed bed and fluidized bed)
  • Measurement technology
