European Digital Innovation Hub EDIH DIBI

The DIBI focuses on the digitalization of the manufacturing industry as one of the most important economic sectors in Bavaria - despite ongoing structural change.

It accounts for more than 30% of gross domestic product and has a strong impact on other sectors. Around 87% of companies here are SMEs. They are facing major transformation challenges due to digitalization, decarbonization, the decline in combustion engines, energy shortages, skills shortages and cost increases. A second focus of the DIBI consortium is on the digital transformation of the public sector, which is still lagging behind and hindering sustainable and citizen-friendly work. The aim of DIBI is therefore to support manufacturing-oriented companies (SMEs and small mid-sized companies), start-ups and public institutions in Bavaria by stimulating, enabling and accelerating digital innovation, thereby promoting competitiveness and sustainable solutions.
