As part of the REACT EU funding initiative, the city center management is creating the digital twin, a digital representation of the city center consisting of an urban data platform and a 3D city model. The impulse project includes 3 use cases: vacancy management, pedestrian frequency measurement and environmental monitoring. Vacancy management: As part of the project development, a vacancy register was created and the individual vacancies were integrated into the 3D model of the digital twin. In addition, a digital vacancy detector was integrated on the city homepage to organize the recording of new and existing vacancies as quickly and easily as possible. Pedestrian frequency measurement: The following data is recorded in the application field of pedestrian frequency measurement: Total number of visitors, new visitors, returning visitors, visitor flows / routes, heat maps and origin-to-destination relationships, visualization and data analysis Environmental monitoring: The following environmental data such as particulate matter levels, CO, NO, O3, NO2, CO2, the UV index, traffic volume and environmental pollution are measured as part of environmental monitoring. The digital twin acts as a support tool for internal administrative tasks, such as urban land use planning (using the included Planner tool) or for the organization of urban events such as markets and festivals with the help of the 3D city model and is constantly being expanded and new use cases added. The project was realized with funding from the European Regional Development Fund (REACT EU).
