BioM is the central network organization for the biotechnology sector in Munich and Bavaria, commissioned by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. As non-profit organization BioM supports the biotech community in a variety of ways with its extensive network. The cluster management offers centralized access and connects Bavarian life science companies with relevant national and international partners.

BioM supports Bavarian biotech companies at every stage of setting up their business. Therefore, BioM has developed a unique support program tailor-made for aspiring start-ups and entrepreneurs in the life sciences sector - the virtual incubator BioM inQlab. In total, BioM has supported more than 200 start-up companies in over 20 years.

In addition, BioM offers a variety of workshops and training courses on industry-specific topics. On the BioM website www.bio-m.org you find current news, a company database, event information, a job exchange, and much more.

Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria

On behalf of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, BioM, is mandated to manage the Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria as part of the governmental "Cluster Initiative Bavaria". The objective is to connect the different Biotech Regions of Bavaria within a larger network. The Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria develops synergies, represents the Bavarian biotech industry at an international level, and communicates to the public to maintain international perception of Bavaria as a top biotech location. The annual Bavarian Biotech Report gives an overview about the business data and company profiles of the Bavarian biotech industry. A central task is to improve technology transfer from Bavarian research institutes. BioM supports business development activities of the industry and helps Bavarian biotech companies to find the right business partners. The webpage www.biotech-bavaria.de provides short profiles and contact information of the partner regions, including Greater Munich, Straubing, Regensburg, Nuremberg, Erlangen and Würzburg.
