Profile

The Bavarian Center for Cancer Research (BZKF) consists of the six Bavarian university hospitals in Augsburg, Erlangen, the two sites in Munich, Regensburg and Würzburg and their associated Comprehensive Caner Centers (CCC). The CCCs are university oncology centers that operate according to clinical structure and quality specifications. By joining forces as the BZKF and closely networking the experts, the BZKF bundles the findings of cancer research. One focus of the BZKF is the joint implementation of clinical studies. To this end, clinical study groups have been established for various tumor entities. The structures created also enable optimal interaction with the Bavarian medical technology and pharmaceutical industry. The aim of the BZKF is to transfer the findings of basic research into the care structure without delay for the benefit of patients and society, in order to make them available to patients throughout Bavaria.
