For existing operational wastewater treatment plants, the goal is to use the existing plant technology and operational influences on wastewater quality to minimize the operating costs of the wastewater plant while maintaining sufficiently high process stability.
Operating disturbances are to be excluded or to be eliminated immediately by suitable measures.
