50Hertz operates, maintains, plans and expands the 380/220 kilovolt transmission network in eastern Germany and Hamburg. Our network covers an area of 109,000 km2 and has a length of around 9,750 km, equivalent to the distance from Berlin to Rio de Janeiro. It ensures the grid integration of around half of all wind power installed in Germany. We provide secure power supply for more than 18 million people – 365 days a year.
