Sketch

The outline must be submitted by the technology transfer offices of the respective university by the deadline. You can find the required documents in our download area.

Submit the outline:

a) with a legally binding signature
b) as a PDF document (preferably with bookmarks and text recognition)
c) with the subject "Call for funding validation + year AND project title"

The selection will be made as part of a competitive process.

A committee of the Bavarian Research and Innovation Agency (BayFIA), which is made up of experts from the Bavarian Patent Alliance (BayPAT), the Bavarian Research Alliance (BayFOR) and Bayern Innovativ (BI), will evaluate the outlines. The committee is bound to confidentiality.

The evaluation of the formally eligible outlines is carried out relative to each other. The evaluation criteria are "level of innovation (Δ TRL)", "technical risk and envisaged solution", "technological novelty", "exploitation prospects", "technical-scientific connectivity" and "external effects".

If all formal requirements are met, an invitation to submit an application is issued on the basis of the panel's recommendations.

Request

It is mandatory to take part in an application consultation.

Applications are submitted in the electronic application system of the Free State of Bavaria. You will receive the access code for your application form from us.

Examination

A formal review is carried out by the staff at the Bavarian project management organization. Please note that incomplete or incorrect documents must be corrected and resubmitted. Unfortunately, this will delay the processing of your application.

Assignment letter

The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy sends the letter of assignment to the Chancellor of the university.

Implementation period

  • According to the allocation letter, a distinction is made between the implementation period and the approval period. Implementation period = project duration.
  • Approval period = generally 6 months longer than the implementation period. This offers a certain degree of flexibility with regard to the start of the project.

The university must inform the Bavarian project management organization of the start of the project. The notification is made

  • informally
  • no later than 2 weeks after the start

Utilization period

The implementation period is followed by a three-year utilization period.
