Procedure
This program is implemented via corresponding calls for funding, in which thematic priorities are set where appropriate.
Details on the procedure can always be found in the respective funding call.
The next call for proposals is expected to be in January/February 2026.
Consulting
- We will advise you individually on the requirements and your plans.
- If the program does not suit your plans, we will try to show you suitable alternatives.
- You are welcome to make an appointment directly with the team from Förderlotsen Bayern
Active call for funding and evaluation of the sketches
- During an active funding call, you can submit your project outline in accordance with the requirements of the funding call. We recommend that you seek advice from us in advance.
The next call for proposals is expected to be in January/February 2026. The next funding call is planned for fall 2025. You can register here to be informed about the next active funding call. - After the funding call is closed, your project outline will be formally and technically reviewed. The submitted outlines will compete with each other. Your outline will be assessed according to the following selection criteria:
- Level of innovation
- Commercialization potential
- Competence of the project consortium
- Impact on healthcare provision
- The collaborative projects with the highest-rated outlines will be invited to make a presentation to the LSM jury.
- The jury will recommend up to six collaborative projects for funding.

Submission of the application and application review
- If your outline is approved, the application will be activated and followed by an application consultation. During the application consultation, all necessary documents for the application will be discussed with you.
- Once the application has been successfully submitted, it will be formally checked for completeness and checked again in terms of technology.
- The approval authority, the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, then checks the submitted review report and the application.
Notification, implementation and utilization phase
- If the assessment is positive and after checking the availability and planning of the funding in the Bavarian budget, you will receive a written notification by post.
- Reports and other documents must be submitted during the implementation period. We will provide you with the relevant forms and documents.
- The implementation period is followed by a three-year utilization period. During this period, short annual reports are due, which provide information on whether and how your new findings are being used.
